Distractions

I'm not convinced we're brought up to deal with our problems. Mostly, we just distract ourselves when something tough comes up. We learn that early. As a kid, you were always given something good, to deal with something bad. Go to a doctor, here's a lollipop or sweet. Fall down and scrape your knee, have a cookie. If you'd cry hard enough, you might even get two. And when you're grown up, it get's even better. You get to eat the whole bag!! LOL!!

But the problem with distrations: lollipops, sweets, cookies, vodka, whiskey or whatever, is that they never really solve anything. Most keep you from having to face your problems. Avoid them long enough though, and you never end up living an honest life. At some point you've just got to stop distracting yourself and deal with what's really bugging you.

Like I said, you were give something good to distract from something bad. Then we grow up, hard to say when that happens. But it happens and distractions seem harder to come by.

Distractions is like running away. Running away from the problems we have at hand. If you looked hard enough, you'll find that you've distracted yourself in more ways than you could possibly imagine. And basically ran away more times than you could possibly imagine. Maybe it's time we all stopped distracting ourselves and faced our problems. Take the bull by it's horns. Maybe..........
